Aviation Profile of CAry Price

Mr. Cary Price is Director-General of Civil Aviation and Chief Executive Officer of the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority. He holds the Master of Science (MSc) degree in Aviation Management from the University of the West Indies, graduating with Distinction, the Management Certificate in Civil Aviation from the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and Concordia University, the Management Certificate in Aviation Safety and Security from the University of Southern California (USC) and the Diploma in Professional Training from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Mr. Price is a licensed Air Traffic Controller, Air Traffic Control Instructor and Air Traffic Control Examiner, and is also an ICAO certified and qualified Instructor and Course Developer.

Mr. Price served as a Board Member of the Trinidad and Tobago Air Traffic Controllers’ Association for 10 years. He was elected as a member of the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers’ Associations (IFATCA) Professional and Legal Committee for 2 years, and as a member of IFATCA’s Finance Committee for ten years. Further to this, Mr. Price was elected by IFATCA as Chairman of its Finance Committee for 2 years.

In 2013 he was elected as a National Executive Officer of the Public Services Association (PSA). During his tenure as an Executive Officer of the PSA, Mr. Price served as Treasurer, Trustee and Assistant General Secretary with responsibilities including Administration and Finance. Mr. Price also served the PSA as an Industrial Relations (IR) Consultant with responsibilities as representative and advocate at the Industrial Court, Ministry of Labour and in employer negotiations.

Mr. Price has also served in a private capacity as an IR Consultant, Lecturer, Educator and Adult Literacy Facilitator. Mr. Price was appointed as the third Director-General of Civil Aviation of the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority effective 01 January 2024, and has over 35 years of career experience in Civil Aviation. Prior to becoming Director-General Mr. Price served Civil Aviation an Air Traffic Controller, Air Traffic Control Supervisor, Air Traffic Services Instructor, Chief Instructor and Manager of Training both within the TTCAA and in its previous incarnation as the Civil Aviation Division of the then Ministry of Works and Transport.
